If you are interested and would like to know more about any of the positions, please feel free to give me a ring.=20 Lesley Atmospheric Scientists - 3 Posts Based at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire Fixed Term - 3 Years Opportunities are available for atmospheric scientists in the Space Science Department. Two of the posts are for Data Scientists for the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC). The (BADC) is one of the Designated Data Centres of the Natural Environment Research Council and provides a source of information and assistance to the research community in the acquisition, archiving and manipulation of atmospheric data. The successful candidates will have a good honours degree in a relevant discipline and a working knowledge of the use of atmospheric data is required. Computing skills are essential, preferably in a Unix environment as are strong communication skills. Some postgraduate experience in tropospheric chemistry, regional meteorology or climate modelling is desirable. Vacancy reference no: VN 1534/97.=20 The third post is for an atmospheric researcher to carry out a study of the internal variability of the stratosphere. A proven track record in carrying out computer modelling of the stratosphere is required. A PhD in the field of global circulation modelling is essential as are computing skills, preferably in a Unix environment.
