Research Interests

Radiation:

• sunset simulations in the Earth's atmosphere within and outside an ozone hole

• anisotropic scattering by air molecules, aerosol particles and cloud droplets in the spherical geometry of the Earth's atmosphere

• UVB radiation underneath an ozone hole

• refraction of light in the Earth's atmosphere

• radiation in astrophysical contexts, especially in radiation shocks and in extended protostellar clouds

Chemistry:

• photochemistry in the lower stratosphere

• ozone hole chemistry

• chemistry within clouds and cloud droplets

Fluid Dynamics:

• diffusion through lower stratospheric mixing processes

• vortex dynamics

• advection of passive tracers

• astrophysical radiation hydrodynamics and shock fronts

Numerical Techniques:

• adaptive mesh: coordinate transformation method

• numerical advection techniques: coordinate transformation, contour advection, etc.
